PFA Resources has developed a process that transforms fly ash - the fine ash left behind by coal-fired power generation - from a stockpiled waste liability into a portfolio of valuable industrial products, including metals, silica and carbon.

Coal-fired power stations across the UK and Europe have left behind extensive legacy stockpiles of this material. Today it is mostly landfilled or used in low-value bulk applications. Our process instead separates it into a range of saleable products, several of which are classified as critical minerals for national supply-chain security.

A large, largely untapped feedstock. Substantial fly ash resources exist at power station and industrial sites across the UK and Spain, representing a long-term supply of raw material.

Multiple product streams from one feedstock. A single processing route yields industrial sulphate products, high-purity silica, high-value carbon, and a suite of strategic metals and rare earth elements.

A proprietary process. Our sulphuric acid leaching method is a proprietary adaptation of leaching technology already proven commercially on chemically similar materials, with a patent application filed.
